MD5 Hash Delivery Method

November 30, 2015 Uncategorized 0 Comments

We’re excited to announce a new feature that has been added to the Waypoint platform, the MD5 hash conversion method. For those who don’t know, MD5 is a cryptographic hash function that allows for a specific encoding of data to help with data integrity. For example, the word “Hello” would convert to the format “8b1a9953c4611296a827abf8c47804d7″.

How is this applicable or useful to you? We’ve gotten multiple requests from our clients using the Waypoint platform asking us to implement this feature due to the clients they were posting to requesting a specific part of their data in this format. You can automatically converting your current values to the MD5 format when posting outgoing data through a campaign. To utilize this feature, when creating or editing a campaign, locate the Parameter Name that you wish to change the data to the format and under the Static Value column simply insert “md5”.

Parameter Name | Map to Field | md5

Now, when a record now passes through this campaign it will automatically convert the values into a md5 format and then post them to the foreign database.
